Three months after an SUV delved into the Agbarho Bridge in Delta State killing all its occupants, another vehicle fell into the bridge killing three out of five of its occupants.
The tragic incident that happened yesterday had rescuers searching frantically for the missing passengers to no avail.
Several pleas were made to the Delta State government to come to the aid of motorists by repairing the bridge as it has claimed too many lives this year.
Similarly, a terrible accident that occurred at the Isodje Junction portion of Oteri Road in Ughelli at about 11:40am today has claimed the lives of three people.
The accident occurred when a van conveying building materials swerved off the road and rammed into a motorcyclist and his passenger who were returning from the burial of a family member, and another elderly woman waiting to board a motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was said to have died on the spot while the other casualties died at the General Hospital, Ughelli.
Eyewitnesses said the van was on high speed and the driver lost control of the vehicle and it ran over the victims.
The driver of the van has been arrested and our reporters sighted officers of the Nigeria Police Force taking estimates while towing the van to the police station.
