The National Association of Nigerian Students and Joint Campus Committee, Delta State Axis led by its Chairman, Comrade Dio Emeka Rex paid a familiarization, introductory cum courtesy visit to the Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps, Delta State Command to seek the welfare of students across the state.
The delegation made up of senators from different tertiary institutions in the state was welcomed by the Deputy Commandant who stood in for the Commandant who was engaged in official duties.
Deliberating on securing a better and conducive environment for students, the NANS/JCC Delta Axis made the following demands;
1. A smooth and cordial relationship between the service and the Union,
2. Request the strategic support and partnership with the association on our proposed student security summit.
3. That the command should also help us in the fight of eradicating cultism and hard drugs among our students through proactive in-campus survaelance.
4. Finally, the association seized the medium to invite the State Commandant as the mother of the day in our forth coming inauguration.
Responding to the request made by the student leaders, the command appreciated and commended the leadership for the wise decision and step which landed to the visit, noting that the NSCDC is a life and property defender and assured them of its maximum supports and collaboration.
He also handed the NSCDC establishment Acts as amended in 2007 to the students while the delegation in return also presented it’s summit proposal to the command.
