Vandals suspected to be from opposition parties have destroyed reelection campaign billboards of Prince Eric Oharisi, Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly early hours of Wednesday morning after he donated a set of 50 desks to the Ekuigbo Primary School, Ughelli on Tuesday.
The billboards which are located at the Anglican Girls Grammar School Roundabout and opposite his campaign office in Otovwodo were destroyed beyond recognition even as aides to the lawmaker berated the destruction as a politics of bitterness.
Prince Eric Oharisi, a honorable member of the Delta State House Of Assembly representing Ughelli North Constituency 1 is seeking reelection to represent the constituency for a second term.
His giant strides at the Assembly must have triggered fear and jealousy among his contemporaries hence they have resorted to the destruction of his billboards in a desperate move to tame his popularity among the people an aide said.
While reacting to the vandalism, a member of his God’s Own Project, GOP campaign team called on security agencies to be on the manhunt against the perpetrators of the destruction and defacing of the billboards as such a move will ensure a proper polity in the constituency.
The lawmaker could not be reached to make comments concerning the destruction as he is said to be engaged in official duties.
