POLICE RESCUE NAVY PERSONNEL FROM KIDNAPPERS DEN IN SAPELE, ARREST 4 SUSPECTS

Kidnapped navy personnel, Kola Omoniyi has been rescued by a crack team of the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command in Bada Elume community, Sapele.

Omoniyi was kidnapped by gunmen along the Sapele /Warri Road in Okpe Local government on his way to Warri on Monday.

The crack team led by the Divisional Police Officer of the ‘C ’ Division, Asaba, CSP Anieteh Eyoh rescued him early hours of Saturday after a drone was deployed to survey the area which identified the kidnappers hideout.

“ Some of the kidnappers have been arrested . Eyoh led the team that freed the military officer . ” a police officer revealed.

Delta State Commissioner of Police , Mr Muhammad Mustafa , confirmed the rescue of the naval officer and the arrest of the four suspects as investigation begins.

The police boss said, “ The Police combed the area and the suspects were arrested around Sapele area . The Naval Officer is receiving treatment at the Navy Hospital in Effurun. Investigation is still ongoing . ”
